A Summer Hello

Hello again. I am back with another fun note card design using the SSS July Card kit. As I said I love this kit and I am having so much fun put together note cards that I will surprise someone with over the summer. I will be entering this into this weeks SSS Wednesday challenge. On with the card design and ingredients.

Card front are stitched rectangle die cuts of the patterned paper from the kit that were glued to the teal blue card front to create a colorful background. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx black ink and glued on a black card stock border. The bikini was cut twice once from black card stock and the other from the teal blue from the kit. I glued them together slightly off center to create the shadow effect. Then I covered the top and bottom with glossy accents. I was having trouble getting all the bubbles out of the glossy accents today.
TIP: I was able to save them by taking some Frosted Lace Stickles and painting over the glossy accents. I really like how it turned out. Reminds me of a suit you see with sequins or shiny vinyl metallic patterns on them.

I did strategically place some very thin pieces of foam square behind the bikini suits at the parts that were not already popped up by the layers of card stock. Otherwise I just used a small amount of Multi Matte Medium.

Lastly I used a few of the flat sequins from the kit. I really like these. They are the kind without the hole. I know you will find it hard to believe I didn’t use any Wink of Stella. I think the Stickles and the sequins satisfied my need for that sparkle and glitter that I love so much.

Interesting observation – I always find it interesting all the times I have been at the beach or by a hotel pool and I have never seen the same bathing suit. It is amazing how many suits there are in the world.

Be sure to check out the SSS challenge blog and see all the great designs and inspiration. This weeks theme was to use patterned paper. I think I got that covered.
