really liked it
bookshelves: asia, depression-era, early-20th-century, audio-books

I loved this story. I have had it on my shelves for a long time and ended up listening to the audio from the library. It is told from the point of view of a young boy residing at an orphanage during the Depression. He discovers his mother is a film actress and thus learns her story and how he ended up in the orphanage. A very touching and heartbreaking story, filled with fascinating tidbits about Seattle and the burgeoning film industry. Thinking this might be my next book club pick.
