Double Challenge Entry: Celebrate and Colour Challenge

Double Challenge Entry: Celebrate and Colour Challenge

I thought I would give a double challenge entry this week. The Global Design Project – 085: Colour Challenge is to choose three of the 2015-2017 in Colours. Since I only own three of these colours this choice was easy – Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, and Mint Macaron.

The second challenge I’m entering this week is the Thank Goodness Its Friday Challenge – 105: Celebrate. I love making birthday cards (and make a lot of them) so I thought this would be a fun combination of challenges. As the GDP Challenge was using colours that are retiring at the end of this month I thought it would be fun to choose a stamp set that is also retiring. I’m actually quite sad that the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set is not going to be available as of 1st of June. This was one of the first stamp sets I purchased.

The first card I made for this challenge I actually hated. I was going to photograph it and post it anyways as what I might not like others may like. Though I came up with some inspiration on Pintrest tonight and this card was born:

The GDP Challenges lets you add Whisper White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla or Crumb Cake in addition to the challenge colours. I decided that white was best for the background. (My first card I made on Delightful Dijon and I found the background too overpowering.

The cake stamp I used a masking technique to exclude the cake stand and I just love how the dots peek out from behind the square panel with the cake.

Happy Stamping Adventure,
Tatiana

  1. Thank you for the Happy Birthday card Tatiana! I love it! I almost feel like it’s my 2nd Birthday (when in reality I am almost 40). No seriously this is such a beautiful, clean and simple card! Thank you so much for joining us in the celebration this week over at TGIF Challenges! ?
