Hello! It’s nearly the middle of the month already and time for a new challenge at Words2CraftBy! This month’s theme revolves around numbers because April 15th is almost here, plus we have a numbers-related quote from a very famous mouse:
“Arithmetic is being able to count up to twenty without taking off your shoes.”
– Mickey Mouse
So go ahead and make a numbers-related and/or Mickey Mouse project, and play along! Here’s what I came up with:
Hubby and I are big Disney fans and have visited Disney World many times (Disneyland soon for the first time). We usually make a scrapbook (or 2) of our trips, so I went through our Disney stash trying to find some inspiration. I had a white shutter card that I had cut out (from my Hot Off The Press template) but never used and I found one single sheet of the Mickey cartoon paper. I didn’t have any other Disney paper that would work with that pattern, so decided on the black Core’dinations paper.
I knew I was going to add numbers to this project, but also wanted to incorporate some Mickey embellishments. Found this in my stash – the store on that sticker has been out of business for years 😦
Those colors just didn’t go with my paper, of course. Last month I made a bunny canvas and altered some puffy Easter eggs, and decided to do that again. I started out with 2 embellishments, then needed a 3rd.
Each has 3 coats of white gesso and then 2 coats of black gesso…needed plenty for sanding some off. I like how they turned out.
I added my sentiment next – I will probably change it to “You can always count on me” …just sounds better. I cut it out using my new TH Stitched Rectangle die set – love the edges.
I wanted to add more texture to the card, so originally the numbers were stenciled on using embossing paste. I won’t bore you with the details, but I wasn’t happy with the results so removed them…it did leave a little residue in some areas, but not enough to trash the project. I replaced the numbers using my TH Alphanumeric Thinlits die set.
To finish, I added some Nuvo drops and a bow.
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to head over to Words2CraftBy to play along in the challenge!

Oh Marty! I’m sure Tim Holtz would love to have this amazing card! This is the second time I’ve seen you alter puffy stickers and I hope it sinks into my brain! I would have never thought! But they are so much cooler now! Great card design and I love the sentiment with the TH rectangle die. I just got that set and love it too! Hugs to you, Autumn

Marty, I’m sorry I missed this one, but happy I found it! What a fabulous card design and the details are perfect for Disney. First I love how you’ve altered the puffy stickers–I would never in a zillion years thought to do that, and I will never look at my sad, unused sticker stash the same again. You are a genius! And the Coordinations paper is the perfect accent–did it come with circles already embossed or did you do that? I have a pile of that stuff, and now I’m inspired to use it! This is a really wonderful make, and I love every single detail! Hugs!
