#604 – Rainbow

Hello! I did proclaim in a previous post that I suck at making cards with rainbow colors. I thought I would give it another go, but this time by adding an actual rainbow in my card. Here’s how it came out –

I used Neat & Tangled Winter Wishes stamp for the scene, watercolored with with distress inks, then stamped the sentiment from Winnie & Walter Sketchy Thoughts. I then die cut this panel using Winnie & Walter Essentials Lana’s Cutaways, then adhered it over a cardbase on which I adhered some pages from an old book.

Seeing the card in retrospect, the rainbow is upside down..red is supposed to be on top – its even more irritating for me, since I actually looked it up…and still ended up coloring it like that!! Imagine!! 😦 And then I thought.. what are stars doing in this scene? It can’t be a night scene – there wouldn’t be any blue sky or rainbow…but, they aren’t looking bad even thought they don’t add any logic to the scene…I guess I’ll leave it alone for now! After all, I firmly believe in learning from mistakes! 😉 😀

I am submitting my card to the following challenges –

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Make a Rainbow

SSS - Monday Challenge

Timeout Challenge #80: When it rains look for rainbows, when its dark look for stars

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #171: Rainbows

Thank you very much for stopping by! 🙂

  1. Ha ha Ashwini !! If we go by logic 90% of cards will fail 😉 So don’t worry..lets call it creative freedom ! I loved the cute little scene and didn’t even realise the rainbow is upside down 🙂

  2. Love the watercolor rainbow background, and the black silhouettes against it are very striking! Thanks for sharing with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge! hugs, Maura

  3. I love how you used the winter scene stamp to create this fun whimsical scene – and the stars do not look out of place at all! I have been trying to figure out how to get more mileage from that stamp but haven’t been able to – you have completely inspired me😀 Thanks so much for playing along with us at Time Out! Jill
