Hooray! New Sale-a-Bration Items Added

For anyone who follows the Stampin’ Up!® world, you know we’re smack in the middle of our biggest event of the year: Sale-a-Bration (SAB). During SAB, customers can earn a free item from a select group of products for every $50 they spend (before tax & shipping) with no limit on the number of free items they can earn. If you spend $50, you get one free item, two with $100, three with $150, and so one.

Since we’ve reached the halfway point of SAB (it runs January 4 through March 31 this year), Stampin’ Up has added three new items customers can earn with purchase. These new items have just been released for customers to earn beginning today, so they’re hot off the presses! As a Demonstrator, I was able to get my hands on them a few weeks early, so I’m using one of the new products for my card today.

I started with a piece of white card stock cut to 3 x 4.25″ and the hooray image from the new Reverse Words stamp set. I didn’t want just a single color for the background, so I used the rock and roll inking technique to create a multicolored background. I inked up the entire stamp first with Tiki Torch ink from Catherine Pooler Designs. Next, I went around just the edges of the image using Catherine’s Tutti Frutti ink. To soften and blend where the two colors met, I went over the line lightly using a fingertip sponge dauber.

Since this was going to be a very clean and simple card, I went over all of the inked area with a clear Wink of Stella pen. Not only did it add a bit of sparkle, but it also helped blend the colors together just a bit more, too.

To assemble the card, I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock to 3-1/16 x 4-5/16″. I used some tape runner to adhere the stamped panel to the black card stock which created a super tiny black mat border around my focal image. I wanted to keep it really thin because I think the black would have overpowered the sentiment if I had gone with a wider border. I then adhered the matted layer to an A2 card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals and that finished the card.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
