This was probably my fourth or fifth time reading this book, although I hadn't read it in at least ten years. Of all Mary Stewart's mystery novels, I like the ones set in the Mediterranean the best, since I love her descriptions of the islands and the sea. While the heroines in her books are all fairly interchangeable, that doesn't detract from my enjoyment of her writing style, especially the way she phrases things. I know this isn't the best book ever, but reading it has always left me feeling happy, probably because it appeals to both my romantic side and my love of beautiful descriptions.
