#559 – Snowflakes – Stamps and Watercoloring

Hello! I am still stuck with snowflakes, but stamps this time. I really wanted to do some watercoloring so, I just went with heat embossing with watercoloring to create these two cards, both with non-traditional Christmas colors –

For the first one, I colored a watercolor panel using my Gansai Tambi set, then stamped and gold heat embossed the snowflakes from Simon Says Stamp Lots of Snowflakes – I just love the multitude and diverse snowflakes in this stamp set. Once done, I trimmed the panel and added the sentiment from BoBunny Sentiments stamp set using MISTI and Black Soot distress ink (I am trying stamping using this ink now-a-days, since I am not using it so much for anything else! ;))

For my second card, I first stamped the sentiment using Honey Bee Stamps Brush Grunge Alpha and heat embossed it using silver glitter embossing powder. I used the same snowflake and same embossing for some smaller snowflakes around the sentiment. I then added stripes of gold watercoloring using Gansai Tambi Starry Colors – loving the gold colors in this!! Now, once done, I noticed that the embossing wasn’t done properly, so I had to go and do it all over again! That’s the reason some of the snowflakes are not that clean and crisp…:( But I do love the look of this, so I can definitely try it with something else! šŸ˜€

  1. Two great cards, I love the background on the first one Ashwini and the unusual colours work surprisingly well with your golden snowflakes. Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!

  2. Wow these are so pretty!! I live the first one particularly and especially the non traditional color of the background. Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing at AAA Cards. Jenny x
