I'm intent on finishing up this series and getting it off my TBR shelves before the end of year, so I read this one and got the last one from the library. This is a fun little series with clever references and a complicated storyline involving six mermaids who must find talismans relating to their ancestors so they can save the world from a terrible beast. Each novel seems to focus a bit more on two of the mermaids and their quests while also referencing the others. It's a great lark for YA readers who will enjoy the strong female heroines who happen to also be mermaids.
