Lawn Fawn Happy Howlidays Pop Up Box Card

I LOVE Christmas and I had plans to start making Christmas cards in July because I had some time off. Then life happened, and I didn’t get around to it. Lawn Fawn’s Fall/Winter release really was the catalyst for my holiday card making

In my previous post I talked about the things I had acquired from their release and one of my current favourite sets to use is the collaboration set that they did with Simon Says Stamp for Stampember.

I absolutely love these dachshunds! Unfortunately, this stamp set is limited edition and already sold out so if you missed out, that sucks! This is probably in my top 10 favourite stamp sets for 2016!

I’ve already used this stamp set for 5 cards! This design is my favourite though:

If you’re unfamiliar with how to make a box card base, check out my video below.

So in addition to the Happy Howlidays stamp set, I used a few other Lawn Fawn stamps. I wanted to make it so that it seemed like the dachshunds were flying through the sky. I used the stamp set Snow Day for the trees to help build a scene. I stamped the trees with Lawn Fawn’s Noble Fir, Celery Stick, and Freshly Cut Grass ink. I used Into The Woods stamp set for the clouds and stamped them with Fresh Mint Ink by Mama Elephant. To complete the scene, I used Lawn Fawn’s Toboggan Together Stamps for the sleigh and presents.
All the images were stamped with Simon Says Stamp Premium Intense Black Ink and coloured with Copic markers . I stamped the snow flakes from the Happy Howlidays stamp set on small pieces of heat resistant acetate with Tsukineko Versamark and embossed them with a silver glitter embossing powder that I acquired from Micheals. To finish up the card I stamped the sentiment, “Santa Paws is coming to town”, with WOW Bright White Opaque Embossing Powder and adhered it to the front flap of the open card and then took my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear Overlay Pen and brushed fine glitter over the clouds, presents, and scarves.

These cards are a little bit time consuming but I love making them. This card also perfectly fits in with Simon Says Stamps Monday Card Challenge this week. How early do you guys start making Christmas cards?
