Hello … bonjour! Welcome to a wonderful new challenge at Time Out, where this fortnight we’re helping to focus attention on Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our theme is Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Friendship … with the optional twist of using pink and/or embossing … here’s where I went with it …
The CAS-ual Fridays flowers were stamped onto a watercolour card panel and heat embossed in silver. I coloured the background with Zigs, drawing out the colour from around the flowers … and when the panel was dry, I masked the flower heads and added a few silver splatters. The sentiment (also CAS-ual Fridays) was stamped and heat embossed onto a slip of vellum … which was then hand sewn onto a stitched scalloped frame with silver thread. I popped the frame up on foam tape over the watercolour panel and adhered it all onto the card base on a piece of craft foam. This is on it’s way to a friend who has had a tough time medically this year … it might even have arrived by now … hope it has before she sees this!
Our challenge this time round is being sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays. Many of you will know of the fundraising and other fabulous work that Michele (owner and breast cancer survivor) is doing to raise awareness of the importance of early detection in fighting breast cancer … and of her Calling All Sistahs campaign and monthly blog posts reminding all of us to do our own self exams. Michele will be offering the overall winner a $25 GC … and for a randomly drawn player who uses pink and embossing, there’ll be a prize package from the Calling All Sistahs collection. All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of inspiration from our fantastic DT and our delightful and super talented Guest Designer, Coni from Which Craft (who you really do need to visit for a whole heap of inspiration and deliciousness … take a picnic … or pyjama’s … you’ll be a while!). Won’t you join us … we’d love to see you in the gallery!

Simply glorious card! Love the silver embossing and the way the flower pops against the awesome pink background. Your silver stitching finishes it off perfectly! xxx
This is stunning Anita, I love the flower in silver and how you drew the colours from the flowers, a wonderful card, oh and thanks for joining AAA
So beautiful Anita, I’m totally loving that vellum sentiment!
I love the sponged background – so effective with the embossed flowers. Great card.
What a beautiful card! The silver embossing and pink look fantastic together, so pretty and stylish. I love how you’ve incorporated some thread. Thanks so much for playing along at Less is More 🙂
Beautiful card, Anita. Adore the pink background, which helps those flowers really stand out. The embossing in silver is lovely. The sentiment on the vellum is so positive and uplifting. Such a clever way to attach it with the dainty silver thread. The scalloped frame around the image is really pretty. Wonderful card!
Anita, this card is delightful & delicate – and the sentiment is exactly what I needed to read first thing this morning! TFS
You are sooooooo creative!!! I’m totally in love with your ‘ziggy’ splashed pink & silver background! Leaving ‘more color’ around the flowers is a beautiful way to highlight the images. But, it’s the hand sewn velum banner that knocked my socks off! Silver thread and all…WOWZERS girl…this is amazing!!!
I think those flowers are my favourite CASual Fridays stamps and I love them with that gorgeous pink background!
Oh my heart…such a perfect card who is living with this stressful situation…the hand stitching conveys the love put into your gorgeous creation. Bless your wonderful spirit…you make everything better. Also want to thank you for the sweet shout out. Hope no one falls asleep if they visit. But truly, my friend, you’re the inspirational one.
Tremendous card Anita. The richness of that glorious pink background really makes your beautifully embossed flower heads ‘pop’. Your hand stitching is an absolute dream and just perfect for our challenge. Thanks so much for joining us at Less is More.

WOW! An absolutely delightful card Anita, that pink is just beautiful and striking against the silver embossing. Super neat and elegant use of thread on your sentiment strip and thanks for playing along with us at Less is More this week. Sarah
This is beautiful, Anita! I love the “drawn out” coloration, such a cool look!
Beautiful card Anita! I love that flower embossed in silver and how fun that instead of coloring the bloom, you colored the background! So cool looking and such a good cause to bring to everyone’s attention. Hugs, Brenda
Such a stunning card, Anita! I love how you outlined the flowers in pink, and your vellum sentiment is sheer perfection! I’m sure this beautiful card will serve to lift the spirits of someone who is going through a difficult time!

Two of my favorite color combos! Such a pretty card!
So pretty Anita – I love the combination of pink, white and silver and you have used it brilliantly! Love the subtle background shading that you did with the Zigs – it really keeps the focus on the pretty flowers!
I love the silver embossing with the pink, Anita. And hand sewn silver thread? Wonderful touch to attach the vellum.
Gorgeous card Anita! The colours and image are so pretty.

This is so beatiful. I love the pink, and how it is darker around the flowers. Your card practically glows with light on my screen.
This is so pretty!
That graduated hot pink makes that flower shine!
Even better embossed in silver!
