Christmas Fishes – Inspired By Card Series (ft. Jess Crafts Digitals)

Hello guys!

This is my last post for the Inspired By Mini Card Series in collaboration with Jess Crafts Digitals. Through all the posts I played with the adorable Fish Friends digital stamp set and tried to come up with different styles, medias and techniques.

So today I’m focusing on how to stretch your stamps and get more use out of them. One way is to think in a creative manner and interpret the stamps in a different way from what they originally were intended to be. It’s so easy to do especially with critters stamps. I think that you can use any critters stamp set all year round and cover all occasions. Just play with different puns and create a scene around, change color combo to suit your occasion, partially mask some elements to remove them from the stamp or add suitable accessories.

On this particular card I played with the sentiment and customized my own one. The background was created with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I drew wavy lines using different blue tone markers and blended them with water. Then I spritzed water droplets to remove some color and create a sort of bubbly underwater background (like we usually do with Distress Inks). Zig markers work great for this technique as well. I colored once again the cute fishes with copic markers and added a few accessorizes to complete the scene.

That’s all for today! Hope you like today’s card and the Fish Friends stamps! If so I have a coupon code for you. You can save 25% with the code GDTFAN at Jess Crafts Digitals.
