A week ago I saw a gorgeous quilt and felt inspired. Sadly I don’t have the time to spend working on such a time consuming project but coincidentally I came across an old Christmas post that used hexagonal cutouts of patterned papers to create a “quilt” style card. This was much more within my available timeframe and has since become my favourite technique of the week! I have a box of gorgeous papers which are often forgotten and I found this a great way to use a bunch at once.
This card was my first attempt to try out the “quilt thing,” made for a friend who has been going through a hard time.
I punched some holes into a card tag to make a cross-stitch heart which I thought added to the sewing theme.
I am also celebrating birthdays this week – my Mum as well as another dear friend. Ordinarily I am a lover of all things clean and simple but Mum is a lover of fuss and frills. I don’t usually do the “multiple element” thing well that everyone else seems to nail. But I gave it a go and tried to add a little more embellishment than I normally would, without cringing too much! These are my end results.
This week I have entered my cards in:
Lawnscaping Challenge: Patterned Palooza
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Celebrate
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Fabulous Florals
Bizzy Becs Challenge – Anything Goes
