Hello,

I made this particular card for three purposes.  First, I wanted to make a simple card for my post today.  Secondly, I needed another card to go in a box set of assorted cards I am putting together to be auctioned off at a Benefit Fund Raiser our church is giving on Saturday.  And last of all, the Monday Challenge on Simon Says Stamp this time is Flora and Fauna, so I decided to go with simple die cut flowers and small butterflies.

I didn’t feel like setting up outside to photograph this card today, so I took the picture inside at my crafting table.  So again, I didn’t get a true white photographed, so I am disappointed.  No time to redo.  I’m going to try to make the instructions shorter, since I know I go on for too long most of the time. 

I trimmed a piece of 90# Canson Watercolor Paper to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.  On this I used a small piece of acrylic to “smoosh” on Tim Holtz Distress Inks in separate colors of Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, Blueprint Sketch, Gathered Twigs, Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass and Picked Raspberries.  To do this, the individual ink was pressed onto the piece of acrylic and spritzed only once with a spray bottle of water.  The acrylic was then turned upside down onto the watercolor paper and placed where I wanted it to go.  After the paper dried, it was die cut with a Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Die.  This top layer was adhered to a sheet of Bo Bunny Believe Collection 6×6 paper pad with Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner Tape, which was first die cut with a larger scalloped rectangle die.  The card base was #110 Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock trimmed to 11″ x 4 1/4″ and folded in half to make a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ top folding card.

 Using Wplus 9 Designs Beautiful Blooms Dies and a Cuttlebug, I cut them out on #110 Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock.  TIP:  After I set up the positioning of the die cuts on the card front, I took a picture with my iPhone.  I then laid a piece of Glad Saran Wrap over the die cut pieces, so I could keep the positioning of the pieces together.  The Saran Wrap was pressed to the card around the cluster.  One by one, I lifted the Saran Wrap and glued that particular piece to the card front.  This was done with Liquitex Matte Gel Medium.  TIP:  Be careful when using liquid glue on top of distress ink.  The liquid activates the ink and it will smear, if the die cuts are moved around very much.  The ink can get on the white die cuts and ruin them! 

TIP:  After all the die cuts were glued down, I laid an acrylic block over the pieces until they dried.  I set something heavy on the acrylic block to weigh it down.
