Gentle Snowflakes

Today’s MFT Camp Create challenge is Magnificent Masking. Here is what I made:

Gentle Snowflakes | by karen @ carefree creations

My background was made by die-cutting a bunch of snowflakes from masking paper and laying them onto my card stock. I sponged on a few distress inks. Unfortunately, my masking paper is very old and not very sticky, hence the fade of sponging at the edge and the not-quite-as-blended-as-I-would-hope-for look.

I loved Camp Counselor Laurie’s card and how she used a vellum pennant for the sentiment. So I did the same. My sentiment is heat embossed.

I don’t have any clear sequins, but I do have these iridescent ones that I thought complemented the background colors well. Hmmm…they actually look like clear ones in the photo, but in real life they are somewhat creamy white with a iridescent pink/purple shine.
