Happy Summer Fun Card

Hello,

I think the heat outside got me in the mood of making summer-beach-sea inspired cards, trying to cool out at least visually if not physically:)) Today’s card is inspired by those lovely colored summer bracelets that we can find at beach vendors while in vacation:)

I used the Sail Away stamp and die set from Simon Says to stamp a bunch of starfish that I then colored with my Marco Raffiné coloring pencils. I so love the colors of these pencils, so bright and cheerful! I know these pencils are not water based, but a couple of days ago while I was playing around coloring, I just added a bit of water and noticed that the color moved a bit. So I did the same for my card today, but instead of water I used my Wink of Stella in clear. This way I could smooth out those pencils strokes and also add some sparkle:)

Next I die cut a circle and adhered it on the side of my card. With a bit of twine I traced the circle all around to create the look of a bracelets, or a necklace, or even a summer wreath. I just used liquid glue for that. Once the glue on the twine was dry, I adhered my starfish die cuts leaving a bit of a space between them. To embellish my ”bracelet” a bit more, I added white pearls in between each of the starfish. Lat thing, I created  the sentiment (twice!) and my card was done!

I really love how this card came out, I believe you can recreate this layout with so many other type of dies, like hearts, circles, stars. Very easy and quick to make:)

The how-to video is linked below or you can watch it HERE at my YouTube channel. I am entering my card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Flora and Fauna!
