A Little Bit of Creativity

Hello.

I know – I appear here at the most random times, right?

We have had the month of June off from lessons, with other events crowding out the time for now.  I spent the first few days of the spare time organizing and cleaning my little heart out.  PincessA is now finished with elementary lessons, so I’ve also spent a lot of time researching junior high lesson options.

Today, though, nothing would suffice but to (finally) turn on my favorite playlist of beautiful classical music and create a card.  It was nice to do something creative.

I used the Paper Players challenge #301 for a little inspiration boost.

These little cakes from Reverse Confetti are so adorable and fun to work with, and I also love the Taylored Expressions Skinny Mini dies.  I made a set of 4 cards in coordinating colors, while I was at it.

I hope you are all doing well.
-Ally

  1. Dear Ally, I went back to read your previous post, and felt again the deep loss you experienced. There is no doubt you are brave and caring and have a strong faith, but sometimes we experience events so deeply that we fall into a pit, which is impossible to climb out of. If this is what you are feeling, I urge you to seek help from appropriate sources, so that this lovely summer ends with you back in balance and able to enjoy life again. Please excuse my frankness – there is no criticism intended, just a strong feeling that you needed to hear these words from across the world! I hesitated to even write to you. May you find the peace you so badly need very soon – God bless you!

  2. Ally, this is just gorgeous! I love the embossed frame and the silver! The birthday cake is so pretty and this card will definitely brighten someone’s day! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players this week!

  3. So sweet Allyson – that cake looks good enough to eat! Thanks for joining my sketch challenge over at The Paper Players this week!

  4. Trying to catch up after vacation and I spied this little beauty!! Love the little banner draped along the top and that pretty cake. The wee bit of sparkle peeking out is lovely. Another fabulous card Ally, I’ve missed you!!
