Wishing....

Hi all,

I have been working on a new ( to me) cross stitch technique called Blackwork.

I've actually done it in the past. but I didn't know it had an official name.

I'm excited to be able to get back to some of the traditional crafting that I enjoy, and incorporate them into a card.

This is my idea of "Mixed Media".

I love the intricate work of the kite.  Really pretty up close!

So I am Wishing you all an absolutely beautiful day...to go fly a kite!  hehehe

P.S  I did some research today, and found out that blackwork was a common practice on collars and cuffs from the 14-16th centuries.  I Love History!!!!

  5. This is so absolutely clever!!! I would've never thought to combine a cross-stitched panel with a card like you did. And I think the cross-stitching you did is GENIUS. I really love how the colors are so delicate and blend together so well. I also adore the way each section of the kite is different. This is truly lovely and I'm so glad you shared it with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
