April Showers

What is going on? Two posts in one day?! It’s my day off. Since I was busy crafting my entry for the Happy Birthday challenge in the wee hours this morning and was still feeling crafty, I decided to work on my entries for the April Showers challenge. Oddly enough, when I was making my Peep cards from their March card kit, I picked up the perfect paper for this challenge. I desperately wanted a plaid paper for one of my cards, but sadly didn’t receive that print in my kit. So, I headed out to Hobby Lobby to find one that coordinated.

Enter, Hello Sunshine by Doodlebug. It is adorable and so perfect! After I bought it, I decided that in April I should make a couple cards with that theme. Ironically, it is a challenge theme!

This was my first and it took me longer than it should have. Mostly because I had a general idea of what I wanted, but found myself sitting there staring at it and fiddling with the paper more than anything. I finally made a decision and I love it.

I love the spring because of the colors and the warmth and because that’s when my birthday is. And, I love thunderstorms. I don’t mind the grayness one bit. That just means I can take a good nap…if I have the time.

The next one just happened as I was playing with the paper. I guess it made up for the time I lost on the first one. This paper pack reminded me of the April SSS kit in that they both have lots of elements for embellishing. This one was super easy and fun!

I love the little sentiment so much that I have to give you a close up.

Completely adorable paper, Doodlebug!
Please pardon me while I skip joyously to my car so that I may indulge in more crafting supplies!

Did you participate in this challenge? I love the theme!
