Due to some recent changes at my husband’s work, our income has dropped and we’ve had to make some big changes to our family budget. We’ve had to learn new ways to budget our money, and remember some old techniques we used when we worked really hard to get out of debt five years ago. It’s not been fun, but it’s reminded us of what’s important and how faithful God is to always provide. Is money tight for your family too? I want to encourage you by what we’re learning.

  1. Food and eating out is our biggest budget buster. Thanks so much for sharing your money saving tips with us at Funtastic Friday.

  2. Yep, we’ve been through this recently ourselves… although our income went completely to ZERO due to a job loss. 🙁 Definitely makes you reconsider each and every penny!! And you’ve got some great ideas for doing that! Thanks for linking up at Frugal Fridays! 🙂

  3. Yes, Angela, so true! Wow… I can’t imagine having one’s income cut in half! That is definitely a shock to the budget! God is so faithful to always, always provide… and like you said, He is so good to even give us some of our “wants” along the way. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your testimony!

  4. Yes! Money is very tight right now due to my husband’s career change. Our income was cut more than half – which definitely helps light a fire under you to budget as a family. Food is the most flexible area that we can reduce costs so we’ve cut out almost all eating out, we’re meal planning, and meal planning from the pantry towards the end of the month to make sure we use up all contents before the next month. It’s a little stressful for now, but I’m grateful that God takes care of all of our needs, and even some of our wants! 🙂
