More Picnic Basket Boxes

I’ve been on quite the roll making more of the picnic basket boxes. Everyone seems to love this design, so I’ve made a couple of others for various people. I even had the opportunity on Saturday to show my original version to Kelly Marie, owner of Lawn Fawn. She thought it was adorable, so that made my day. 🙂

Here is the second version of this box design I made, again using Lawn Fawn products. Feel free to click on the images to see a larger view.

This fairy version will actually be going to my local stamp store for display. If you’re in the southern California area, feel free to stop by Stamp Fever in Orange and check it out in person.

For this particular version, I used stamps from the Fairy Friends stamp set. I used heavy weight white cardstock for the base and Lawn Fawn’s guava cardstock and the Lynette plaid from the Perfectly Plaid petite paper pack for the lid.

If you aren’t aware of the story behind the Perfectly Plaid lines of papers, each one is named after one of the ladies who works at the Lawn Fawn office. I’m fortunate enough to call a couple of those ladies friends, and Lynette just happens to be one of them. I really hope she’ll like the box I created with her namesake paper. 🙂

The final version (so far) I’ve made of this box will be going to the young daughter of one of my employees. As soon as he saw the original one I made, he asked if I could make one for his daughter. He said she’s very “girly girly” and loves all things pink, so I tried to incorporate as many pink elements as I could. The stamps are from the same Eggstra Special Easter stamp set I used for the original box and the patterned paper is the Jessica plaid from the Perfectly Plaid petite paper back, both from Lawn Fawn. The bright pink cardstock I used is from Bazzill, but I’m not sure of the exact color name. There isn’t a bright pink cardstock in the new Lawn Fawn cardstock line yet, but I’m hopeful there will be soon to coordinate with their Plastic Flamingo ink. Until then, the color I used is pretty similar to Doll Pink from Simon Says Stamp.

I was really pleased with how my Copic coloring came out on this card. Since the bunny has a little bite out of its ear, I definitely wanted to go for a chocolate bunny look for it. I kind of thought I pulled it off, too. Well, that is, until I had the whole box finished and realized I forgot and gave the bunny a white tail. Oops! I’m just going to pretend the tail is made of white chocolate instead of milk chocolate. LOL

To give the colored images a bit of extra sparkle, I added clear Wink of Stella pen on both of the pink bows and all the eggs. I also went over the bunny’s eye with a black Glaze pen to give it a bit of extra dimension and shine.
