Disappearing Jewel of Madagascar (Accidental Detective)

This book makes me fall in love with children's mysteries all over again. Just the right amount of wittiness, action, and a need to solve the enigmatic things going on. Ricky Kidd is a favorite fictional character of mine. Plus there's a positive Christian influence in the story too, mostly as a flowing undercurrent -- not taking over the plot, so I would feel comfortable lending my copy to even a non-believing friend, as I think they could enjoy it just as much as I did.
NOTE to parents: Something you may wish to know before allowing your kids to read this one. *SPOILER* As the plot thickens, it comes to light that a man in town was portraying as a woman -- to get by unnoticed and live "undercover" in plain sight.
Overall? This may be my favorite Accidental Detectives book I've read!
