I have fallen in love with Ken Oliver Color Burst (Watercolor Pigment Powder) Today’s background was made with Merlot and Violet.  The background for the shaker portion used Merlot and Ultramarine Blue.   I start by heavily spritzing  watercolor paper with a fine water mist, next I sprinkle the Pigment Powder on the wet paper and watch the magic happen.  If there isn’t enough movement in the colors I spritz again with water.

The window was cut out with Spellbinders Media MiXage One Heart  die. The Shaker well was formed by cutting the heart into 2 sheets of fun foam and sticking them together and then adhering to the front panel that first had a sheet of clear packaging material adhered to the back of it. I filled the well with sequins and clear beads by Darise Glass Beads and Sequins from Joann Craft Store. I then backed the well with another piece of watercolor paper that I used the same method as the background, but this time I did not spritz the second time, which left much more white space.  (I really like this look)

  1. Great shaker card design. I love Color Bursts too!

  2. Another beautiful background on your beautiful Shaker card! Love this style of ‘wonky’ heart! Thanks so much for playing along with us again at The Mod Squad Challenge Donna, Challenge Host.

  3. This card turned out amazing! How clever of you to use such a gorgeous background on the inside of your shaker heart! I’ve never seen anything quite like it and it’s a tribute to your ability to think outside the box. Really loved seeing this and am so glad you shared your talents with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
