Saturday! Welcome to another weekend challenge post

Hey there readers,

How's your weekend starting off? Well, I hope.

My regular readers will know we have an "adopted family" commonly known as "the surrogates", well, they came to dinner yesterday evening as one of them has a birthday only a few days apart from hubby so we celebrated together ..... OK - so, it was for hubs birthday and it seemed churlish to make him cook! It was takeout! Bet you ALMOST thought I was going to say I'd cooked - WRONG! We decided on an Indian takeout from the nearest facility .... it was great ... we ordered four main courses, two side dishes and rice - it was plenty. We got to try: Prawn Dhansak, Lamb Sag, Chicken Badhonia and Chicken Tikka Chilli Masala .... which we all agreed was a very tasty selection

Anyhoo, on to the crafting .... I learnt yesterday that I needed to send a pal a sympathy/thinking of you card following the loss of her mum last week .... not much in the collection and I like to keep one or two in hand so I turned my hand to this one -

My card
And a closer view of the twinkle
And the insert and envelope
Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
  • Two white card panels cut to 9½ x 13½cm
  • Two black card panels cut with 1.6mm borders
  • Inkadinkado floral sentiment stamped using Versafine onyx black
  • Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen and Copic Atyou Spica glitter pen in silver (the DARKEST silver you will ever come across - more like silver that needs a good clean!) used to add twinkle and interest to this otherwise monochrome card
I'll be entering this make for the following challenges:-
  1. Through The Craft Room Door - Feb 9th-15th challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Lemon Shortbread - challenge No. 8 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Crafting from the heart - challenge No. 98 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Cards und More - challenge No. 151 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Craft Your Passion - challenge No. 298 - ANYTHING GOES

And then this one ...

My One Layer Card
And the insert and envelope

  • White C6/A2, 250gsm, card blank and matching sized envelope
  • One piece of white card, cut to 9½ x 13½cm
  • Chocolate Baroque stem from the Wisteria Lane set, stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Hero Arts sentiment and Paper Artsy splatter stamped using Memento grey flannel ink, the splatter stamped twice without re-inking

I'll be entering this for the following challenges:

Thanks so much

You've pitched these cards just right, as they are always so very difficult to make. Mono chromatic with a hint of glitter..just perfect.

Two beautiful cards matey, cards for these sad occasions are so difficult but your designs are just perfect.

For me the second one has the edge just slightly and it's perfect for your LIM entry too.

Congrats on your top three success, well deserved recognition for your fabulous creations.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
