Hello! I wanted to scrap a layout with an electronic cut file. I have seen so many beautiful layouts using cut files and I wanted to give it a try too.

I created a wedding layout with this cut file. I just loved the hearts and thought it was perfect for a wedding layout.

I was checking out the  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog, and this week’s challenge is to use ‘Spritz and Spray’ – therefore I used this technique on my layout. Honestly I love spray mist. It’s really easy as all I need to do is just spritz! I love the mist effect and the unpredictable effect of the splats.

I opened the file in the Silhouette Studio program. I resized and duplicated the image and weld it together. Since it was my first time cutting a cut file, I tried it with the white textured cardstock and got an amazing result. I tried it again with patterned paper. It was quite exciting – I guess that’s the fun playing with a new toy!

I used the frame of the hearts cut with patterned paper on the white background. The frame was pink – so I changed the color my spritzing some homemade blue spray mist. I like to use DIY spray mists because I can mixed whatever color I like. I have two favorite methods of how I make my homemade sprays – art supply and non-art supply.

1. Paints, Gelatos, Perfect Pearls, Inktense blocks
2. Dye powder ( I used Tulip Fabric Dye), Food coloring

I spritzed another blue spray mist on the background of the white cardstock. I chose the hearts and spray misted a pattern from a stencil. Then I added some homemade textured paste colored with a blue gelato for added texture. I put some texture paste onto the white background paper as well.

I adhered the white cardstock onto a blue floral paper from Dear Lizzy- Serendipity. I finished the layout with some diecuts and embellished it with some camera I fussy cut from the same paper pad.

Since I cut the cut file twice – I made another two layouts using the same file.

Second layout – I scrapped an old childhood photo.

The patterned papers I used are also from the Dear Lizzy – Serendipity collection. I added gold hearts I punched out using Martha Stewart heart confetti punch. The ice-creams are also fussy cut from the same paper pad. I used my Cameo to cut out my title from white cardstock.

For my third layout – I scrapbook a selfie and also experimenting with some paint.

This heart frame was the one cut from white cardstock. I misted it with some blues and pinks. I used the same paper pad to layer my hearts. It was actually quite time consuming. But it’s lovely to see all the colorful patterns on my layout. I started with a white cardstock, and used different shades of pink acrylic paint to create an ombre effect. I really liked the effect of paint on textured cardstock and the look of dry paintbrush. Then I added some white paint droplets in the areas I wanted to add embellishments. I also added the remaining gold hearts I punched out. I added some daisies stickers from Martha Stewart. I cut out my title with the Cameo. Since I was scrapping a selfie, I use the name of my blog. I adhered the finished hearts with some pop dots for more dimension.
