DIY Bridal Gift Card Cover

Bridal Gift Card Cover - The Cofran Home

Have a wedding shower this weekend?  Me too!  Get the gift yet?  Don’t worry!  Go get a gift card.  I’ll show you the rest!

A gift card is a perfect “go to” wedding shower gift, especially if the registry is completely picked over.   It allows the couple to pick up anything they may have forgotten on their registry, or helps them splurge on something big they’ve always wanted!

It always seems a bit boring, though, to give a gift card.  Doesn’t it?   I don’t like giving “boring” gifts, so I decided to fancy mine up a bit and share it so you can too!

What you’ll need:

  • A gift card (usually they come in a paper cover or case – make sure you keep this on the gift card)
  • White tulle
  • Ribbon
  • String of beads (if you don’t have this – you could easily glue rhinestones in the shape of a necklace on the paper cover of the gift card instead)

supplies

Start with the string, and cut a piece about 1 foot long.

Then take your tulle and cut several pieces about 7 inches long (or longer or shorter depending on how long you want the skirt).  I used about 20 pieces of 7 inch tulle.

Take one piece of tulle that you just cut.  Fold it in half so it creates a loop and put it under the ribbon.

Grab the bottom ends and bring them up over the ribbon and through the loop.  Pull it tight, so it creates a knot around the ribbon.

Repeat until you have enough to wrap around the gift card.

Then, tie it around the gift card.

The last step is to add the “necklace”.  I cut a piece off a spool of pearls I had laying around.  I put a dab of hot glue on the back side of the paper cover to hold the necklace in place.  Another option would be to take rhinestones and glue them in the shape of a necklace on the paper cover.  Either way would be cute!

The bride-to-be is sure to love it!
