Stenciling + Inlay Die-cutting

Hello, hello! Today I will be sharing with you a Valentine’s card…minus all the hearts. Hope this will be helpful for those whose partners, like mine, are not a big fan of hearts!

For the background, I blended Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalde and Mustard Seed together to create an ombré effect using my Echo Park Modern Chevron Stencil. The frame is from the Stitched Rectangle Frame Die-namics by My Favorite Things. Using the same card stock as the card base, I ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot machine with the two smaller dies from Waffle Flower Flower Circles Die Set.

To assemble the card, I first adhered the stenciled background directly onto the card base, before popping up the stitched frame with foam tapes. I also slid a vellum in between the frame and foam tape before securing it. I then positioned the flower circles on the bottom right corner, popping them up layer by layer. I ended up putting two layers of foam tapes on the smallest circle. For the sentiment, I stamped the word “happy” with Versafine Onyx Black on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and fussy-cut it. I used a craft knife for higher precision. The word “together”, which is from the same Happy Evedything stamp set by Mama Elephant, was stamped directly onto the vellum. Some clear sequins and enamel dots were used to add interests to the card.

Thank you for stopping by and see you soon!

Hugs, Michelle
