Celebrate Spring with Catherine Pooler Designs

Hi friends!   Today it's time to Celebrate Spring with Catherine Pooler Design's new release that is available NOW!

I've heard so much great feedback on this release.  Everyone is loving the new Hops & Peeps stamp set from the Egg-cellent Easter bundle.  This is packed full of fun stamps and dies to make some adorable Easter cards.

The Egg-cellent Bundle Includes

  • Hops & Peeps Stamps & Dies
  • Egg Hunt Dies
  • Flower Power Background Stamp
  • Mr. Rabbit's Garden Patterned Paper

Here are a few cards I made showcasing this bundle along with all of the Catherine Pooler Spa ink colors that coordinate with the Mr. Rabbit's Garden Patterned Paper pack:   Rose Petals, Clay Mask, Mandarin Spice, Shea Butter, Spruce and Tranquil.

I used Copic markers to color in the bunny and chick images.  Did you know that Catherine Pooler Designs also carries a collection of Copic markers in the shop?

There are so many great ways to use the new 4 piece Egg-cellent Die set.

My favorite stamp in the whole Hops & Peeps set is this little peep!  So cute and easy to color too so I can load up my cards with these chubby yellow faces.

I hope you have as much fun as I did with this fun new collection.  You can click on my links any time to view the Egg-cellent Bundle as well as the whole Celebrate Spring collection at Catherine Pooler Designs.

Celebrate Spring Release sneek peek with Catherine Pooler Designs

Hi friends!   Can you believe it's March already?  The snow has melted here in Illinois and we're having some of our first 50 degree days of the year.  I see the tips of daffodils peeking through the soil already.  It's definitely putting me in the mood for some spring cleaning, spring decorating and of course some spring cards!

This week Catherine Pooler is giving us a peek into her new Celebrate Spring Collection that will be in her shop for you next Wednesday, March 9th.  That will be plenty of time for you to play with bunnies, chicks and eggs for Easter cards.

There are some adorable items in the Egg-cellent Easter Bundle.  Check out this cute little bunny from the new Hops & Peeps stamp set, surrounded by sweet carrot print paper from Mr. Rabbit's Garden 6x6" paper pack.

I am a huge fan of Catherine Pooler's Peeking Pets stamp set and instantly fell in love with the Hops & Peeps stamp set.  The bunny and chick are so cute and easy to color too!!

When Crafting Takes a Backseat in Life.

Hi friends.   It's been a while.   Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you just need to step back and deal with what's most important.  For me it was my mother.    Right around the time our country was closing down for Covid in 2020, my mom received the news that she was in the late stages of lung cancer.  She spent the whole year fighting cancer and I spent the whole year  trying to keep her safe from Covid.  It was a tough year for her and I wanted to be there for her as much as possible.

Even though we knew what the outcome would be, it was devastating to our family when she lost her battle in January last year.    She died peacefully in her home under Hospice care.  Her loving husband and all of her children were by her side when she took her last breath.

It has been a year since we lost her.  A long year of grief and reflection for me.  I tried hard to find my footing in my craftroom again.  I tried to pick up where I left off but my heart was just too heavy.  My crafty friends were patient and supportive.  Dear, sweet Catherine told me to take as much time as I needed and that she would welcome me back to her creative team whenever I was ready.  I am so lucky to have made such wonderful friends in the crafting community.

In November I cleaned out my craftroom and reorganized, hoping for a fresh start.  Christmas cards were my first goal and I'm not going to lie, it was tough.  It was probably too big of a challenge to start with but I didn't pressure myself to make 50 or 60 like I usually do.  I took it one card at a time and soon I was really having fun with it.  It was exactly what I needed.  I really missed my cardmaking and creative outlet.

It's been a long couple of years and I am so happy to say I'm back on Catherine Pooler's creative team and I hope to be back to blogging regularly too.   I really missed you guys!  Thanks for letting me share my "backseat" story.   I'm in the front seat now and ready to take the wheel.  And I know my mom is cheering me on.

A Little Blue Truck and a Big Red Greeting

Hello friends! I did a little mix of products for my clean and simple card today. Starting with little truck from Catherine Pooler Design's Sleigh Ride, an exclusive Club Sursee stamp set. I stamped the truck with Hot Tub and a little Skylight ink for shadowing. The street light is from Catherine's Here We Come a Caroling stamp set and it fits perfectly with the truck. Along the bottom I used my favorite Buffalo Plaid Background stamped in Midnight ink and a striped border from the Man With The Bag stamp set. This fabulous bold sentiment is from Scrapbook.com's Big and Bold Christmas stamp set, stamped in Catherine Pooler's Samba ink. That is my all time favorite shade of red!!

Stamps: Sleigh Ride, Buffalo Plaid Background, Man With The Bag, Here We Come a Caroling (Catherine Pooler Designs), Big and Bold Christmas (Scrapbook.com).
Dies: Sleigh Ride Coordinating dies, Here We come A Caroling Coordinating dies (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Ink: Midnight, Samba, Hot Tub, Skylight, Spruce, Twilight, Limoncello (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Paper: Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories: gray Copic marker, dimensional tape.

Keeping it clean and simple makes this an easy card to replicate for quick Christmas cards. Stamping simple details like the Buffalo Plaid and the striped border adds interest without being too complicated.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A simple card with Minor Stripes and Valentine Red from The Ton!

Hi friends! Here's a little card I whipped up using the Minor Stripe Cling background stamp from The Ton.

I love red and white stripes at Christmas time. It reminds me of candy canes. It also can give a card a great traditional vibe. Here I masked off an oval in the center with the Modern Labels stamp and die set. This created a great focal area for one of The Ton's new Pine Tree Cover diecuts. I topped it off with a simple sentiment from the Holiday Ornaments stamp set.

Stamps: Minor Stripes Cling background, Modern Labels, Holiday Ornaments (The Ton).
Dies: Pine Tree Cover, Modern Labels (The Ton).
Ink: Valentine Red, Everglade Moss, Hampton White (The Ton).
Paper: white cardstock 80lb and 110 lb (Neenah), black cardstock.
Accessories: Sparkle Premium Glitter in Seahorse and A Girl's Best Friend, Opaque Bright White embossing powder (WOW!) Titanium white acrylic paint (Arteza), Pixie adhesive spray, dimensional tape.

I ink blended this tree from the Pine Tree Cover die with The Ton's Everglade Moss ink. I sprayed Pixie adhesive spray over the top and then covered the whole tree with Wow!'s Sparkle Premium Glitter. Such beautiful sparkle!!

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great day!

A fresh scenic card using new cover dies from The Ton.

Hey friends! Today I'm sharing a clean and simple scenic card that is perfect for mass producing. I love working with with The Ton's new Pine Tree Cover die and Deer Cover die. They cut out so many of these trees and deer at once which saves a ton of time.

First, I cut out a bunch of trees and sprayed them with Pixie adhesive spray, then covered them in Sparkle Glitter from WOW!  I did a little ink blending on white cardstock to create a sky backdrop.  After diecutting the blended card panel with The Ton's Double Stitched Rectangle die, I added some red stripes to the card base with the Minor Stripes Cling background stamp.

I topped this card off with a couple deer and my favorite bow from The Ton's Christmas Wreath Builder stamp and die set.

Stamps: Christmas Wreath Builder, Holiday Love, Minor Stripes Cling (The Ton).
Dies: Pine Tree Cover, Deer Cover, Double Stitched Rectangle, Christmas Wreath Builder(The Ton).
Ink: Valentine Red, Cali Blue, Everglade Moss, Found Topaz, Aspen Cocoa, Noir (The Ton).
Paper: white 110 lb and 80lb cardstock (Neenah), Natural cardstock (My Favorite Things).
Accessories: A Girl's Best Friend Sparkles Glitter (WOW!), Pixie spray, Titanium White paint (Arteza).

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day!

A sweet card using the Sweet Sledder stamp by Penny Black.

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a sweet little card I made using this adorable Sweet Sledder stamp by Penny Black.

.I fell in love with this stamp and couldn't wait to color in the image with my Copic markers. I cut around the upper half of the image and created a snow drift all in one piece to pop up on the lower half of the card. I used the big pine tree from Penny Black's Woodland Beauty stamp set. That's my go-to pine tree for a lot of my scenic cards. I topped it off with the Believe die, cut from a brushed gold cardstock.

Stamps: Sweet Sledder, Woodland Beauty (Penny Black),
Dies: Believe (Penny Black).
Ink: It's A Boy, Spruce, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), clear emboss (Versamark), Copic Markers.
Paper: white cardstock (neenah), brushed gold cardstock (My Favorite Things).
Accessories: white superfine embossing powder (WOW!), dimensional tape.

I added some little spots of snow all over this image using superfine white embossing powder. You can see I wasn't precise at all because I wanted it too look like a flurry of snow falling. I added it over the images also. Then I ink blended a blue sky over the top using my favorite blue, It's a Boy by Catherine Pooler Designs. It's the perfect hue for a sky! You can see here where I cut around the image and created a snowdrift all in one long piece for the front of the card. The tree is stamped on the card base so that it looks like it stands just over the snow drift.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Holiday cards using the Nice List elves from Catherine Pooler Designs.

Hello friends.  I'm back with a couple more Christmas cards, this time made with an adorable stamp set from Catherine Pooler Designs.    I know a lot of people who are on the Nice List this year and one of these adorable little elves will be in their mailbox in December.

The little hats and elf shoes are so whimsical and fun. I whipped up 6 of these little cards, all in different colors and it was quick and easy. I did some coloring with Copic markers using traditional colors on one of these and a cool mix of pinks and blues on the other. I'm a traditional gal myself, what colors do you like for Christmas?

Stamps: Nice List, Holiday Charm, The Man With The Bag, The World Awaits (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Dies: Nice List, Holiday Charm, Stitched Squares (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Ink: Midnight, It's a Boy, Samba (Catherine Pooler Designs), Copic markers.
Paper: Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories: Crater Lake Sequin mix (Catherine Pooler Designs.

The little candy cane is from Catherine Pooler's Holiday Charm Stamp and coordinating die set. I also used the Stitched Squares dies to create the little sign.

Stamps: Nice List, Holiday Charm, Springtime Elements, Holiday Trimmings (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Dies: Nice List, Holiday Charm, Stitched Squares (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Ink: Be Mine, It's' a Boy, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), Copic markers.
Paper: Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories: Crater Lake Sequin Mix (Catherine Pooler Designs).

At the bottom of this card I used the polkadot border stamp from the Springtime Elements stamp set. I also used the candy cane border from the Holiday Trimmings stamp set.

For this next card I just stamped hats and elf shoes across the entire card front, leaving a corner free for a small sentiment tag.

Stamps: Nice List (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Dies: Nice List coordinating dies, Spiral Border, Circles (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Ink: Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), clear emboss (Versamark), Copic Markers.
Paper: Premium White Cardstock, Midnight Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories: natural twine, white embossing powder (WOW!), Fun Foam.

The border along the bottom is cut from the Spiral Border die.

It's holiday card time again!

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog.   I've been MIA for a little while this year because let's face it, 2020 has just been a roller coaster ride.   I've missed blogging though so today I thought I'd share a card I made turning little trees into tree tops, using some new dies from The Ton.

First can I say I love this fabulous new Merry Christmas Sentiment die? I stamped it like a candy cane using The Ton's Minor Stripes Cling background stamp and Valentine Red ink. I then layered it over a black diecut for a shadow affect that really makes it pop. And on to the awesome Pine Tree Cover die. Cutting out all of these different size trees at once really makes the process easy and quick with one die. I cut these out in white cardstock, then ink blended with The Ton's Everglade Moss ink. To add some sparkle I sprayed some Pixie Dust adhesive spray over the trees and then sprinkled on some of

WOW!'s;
A Girl's Best Friend Sparkles Premium Glitter. I love that glitter! It looks silver in the jar but when the light hits it just right it picks up little particles of color. Great for Christmas trees!

Stamps: Minor Stripes (The Ton).
Dies: Pine Tree Cover, Merry Christmas Sentiment (The Ton).
Ink: Valentine Red, Everglade Moss (The Ton).
Paper: white 110 and 80 lb cardstock (Neenah), Black (Simon Says Stamp).
Accessories: A Girl's Best Friend Sparkles Premium Glitter (Wow!), dimensional tape, Pixie Spray adhesive, Titanium White paint (Arteza).

I'll be back soon with more Christmas card fun thru the end of the year. Thanks for stopping by!
