London mouse! Eek!! I’ve been eyeing these stamps ever since it was released in September 2015, and I just couldn’t for the life of me get a hold of them because every time there was a sale (which is when I allow myself to spend money) they were always sold out! Well I finally got them during the Christmas sale and I was so excited to finally receive them!
I’ve always wanted to revisit some color combination schemes that I used to learn in art class, and I thought given that London flag colors are blue, red, and white, it was very fitting to limit myself to only those colors. I decided to use colored pencils, so here you see the only 3 colored pencils I used for all the coloring, blue, red, and white.
After the coloring was done, I decided to make a simple background blended with Rose Quartz dye ink. Since the mice are the stars of this card, I simply stamped the buildings, trees, and lamps from the set with a blue (Atlantic pigment ink) that matched shade of the hats. No coloring needed!
And to complete the card, I added some black striped washi tape to the bottom of the card, as if its a road for the mice, and added a simple “hello” sentiment that a I created with my DYMO labeler. All the mice and sentiment were elevated with foam tape.
LOVE this stamp set!!!! You’ll definitely be seeing more cards from me with these stamps.
Cheers,

This card is absolutely endearing! I lived in London for over a year and this brought back so many happy memories! I also loved the way you created this card in layers so that it really comes to life. I also thought it was so clever of you to leave the background understated and then really pack a punch with the mice. And WOW– I must give you kudos for using only THREE colored pencils here! Quite a miracle what you were able to pull off! Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
