My First Blog Hop

Here goes my first Blog Hop. Since the moment I learned of this June 2011 Paper Trey Ink Blog Hop I knew that I wanted to participate. This is so exciting! The rainbow shades of the inspiration piece from Pinterest was what drew me in; then pretty dresses and hangers. So pretty and girly.

I created my card totally drawing inspiration from the beautiful shades of colors on the wall and decided to add some prisma glitter using score tape to add a little sparkle to my card like in the fabric of those pretty dresses and hangers.

I created my little rainbow with water color prisma color pencils. I have been playing around with these pencils for a bit, but this is the first card actually using them. I found that I like how my coloring with these pencils turns out best when I first draw some with the water color pencils on a scrap of water color paper and then with a wet paint brush; brush right where I drew with my pencil and then take my brush that now is not just wet but now also has color and color where ever is that I am going to color, I thought the picture below my help to visually understand what I am talking about.

I colored on  small piece of PTI white cardstock the range of colors as on the inspiration photo, then with dimensional adhesive I added another layer of white cardstock after cutting out the shape of the butterfly to use as a window to see the rainbow, then adhered the Red rose cardstock  underneath that I already prepared with glitter and adhered it to my card base and finished by adding the sentiment. I can't wait to go hopping and see what eveyone else created.

Stamp: PTI Futterby friend
Cardstock: PTI White cardstock and Red Rose SU cardstock
Coloring: Prisma water color pencils
accents: PTI Prisma Glitter
Tools: PTI butterfly die, score tape 1/8"
