Hello! This next fortnight at Time Out, we have a fabulous ‘CASE … With Your Own Twist’ challenge for you … our designer to CASE is the wonderfully talented and delightful Karen Dunbrook from Snippets … her gorgeous card is a little further down. Here’s my take …
and here’s Karen‘s amazing inspiration …
You can see where my focus was … stencilled panel, splatters and a sentiment with different fonts … my twist was making a one layer card and the graduated colour combo. I masked off a panel on my card base, die cut a few Poppystamps‘ Lorelei Leaf sprigs out of post it tape, arranged the leaves on the panel and sponged/blended four colours of Distress Ink over it. A little water was splattered over the panel and once it was dry, I stamped the Neat & Tangled sentiment (made up of two stamps), coloured the little heart with Distress Ink and added a coat of Glossy Accents to it.
Where does your creative imagination take you when you see Karen‘s lovely card? If you’d like a few ideas, there are plenty on offer over at the Time Out blog, from our talented Guest Designer, Jen from I Create and from our own wonderful DT! Hope to see you in the gallery!
As well as being inspired by Karen‘s card, I was also inspired by …

Good Morning Anita! Karen’s cards are always inspiring to me and I learn techniques from her posts. How creative of you to make your own stencil and it is beautiful card. There is always a softness to your cards and that is very appealing. A nice gradual blending of the colors and a nice focus on the sentiment. I like it! Hugs, Barb
Bonjour, Anita!! I LOve your one-layered lovely! Any color you blend on your signature linen cardstock is just that much prettier … post-it tape huh? Really wonderful idea!

Just perfect, Anita! I have to tell you, my heart aches every time I think of what happened in Paris, but the one good thing about the constant reminder everywhere is that thoughts of France inevitably lead to thoughts of you and that makes me smile.
Love that you made your own stencil, very clever! Cx
Beautiful take on Karen’s card! I love the textured card base, it adds a lot of interest. xxx

Why didn’t I think to mask some of my leaf die cuts. This is such a great CASE of Karen’s card, Anita. I love the colors you’ve blended.
What a beautiful sentiment – and a lovely stencilled, watercoloury background too. I really must pull my stencils out more often…they’re gathering a pile of dust in my stash somewhere!
You’re such an innovator, in creating this lovely leafy stencil from your dies! So beautiful, and made even more so when paired with the kindness sentiment. I need to pull out my stencils and get to joining the gallery! Sending hugs of comfort to you and your shaken country…
