A day trip around Bristol .... and just a little crafting!

Morning all,

I know, I know, I don't USUALLY post on Tuesday's but .... the hubs and I played tourists on Monday and I'm afraid I took too many pix for one post so .... here's a post on a day I wouldn't normally! Once again, I'd like to suggest that you grab a cuppa before you start following the Shaun in the City tour with me ...

Enjoy your day trip around Bristol ......... we start off on the northerly side of Bristol with:-

Buddleia Shaun, located at Bitton Rail Station

An unexpected bonus at Bitton Station .... a tea room AND a TARDIS!!!

Then we headed in to the City and found ....
Bristol Express Shaun, situated on the station incline at Bristol Temple Meads Rail Station

Woo Woo - this one's for Alan and Mr Tom! THEY know who they are!

And a view of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's design for our Rail Station

Alright me babber ( well known phrase in Bristol), Shaun,
also located at Bristol Temple Mead on the station incline

Great Western Shaun, located at Temple Quay,
Just a few minutes walk from the station

I guess this one is for Alan and Mr Tom too!

Rosie

Rosie, located at Temple Quay

And some of the barges .... the tall tower in the distance is the shot tower

Hope you've enjoyed your trip - there's more to share so .... I'll be back tomorrow with more of the Shauns as well as my usual WOYWDW post. I hope you might feel inclined to click on some or all of the links I've included as Bristol is full of interesting places and things to do and see, in case you don't already know!

I'll save you wondering .... nope, there's seldom a day with no crafting so I'll share a quick ATC with you before I go ....

Materials used:

  • ATC blank
  • Snippet of white card
  • Distress Inks: picked raspberry, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron - applied using an egg shaped sponge, and allowed to dry
  • Once dry I applied talc over the ink before stamping the Tim Holtz image and Woodware sentiment using Versamark ink.
  • Heat It Up clear embossing powder liberally sprinkled and the excess tapped back in to the pot before heat embossing
  • Once cooled Distress Ink in black soot was applied to the entire ATC using a sponge and then the embossed sections were buffed with paper towel .... this method is known as the Joseph's Coat Technique
  • Crafters Companion Spray and Shine applied to the ATC, to seal and protect the water based inks

I'll be entering this for the following challenges:-
  1. Simon Says Stamp - Monday August 17th challenge - CITRUS WITH A TWIST (twisted citron used)
  2. Craft Your Passion - challenge No. 275 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Crafting From The Heart - challenge No. 73 - ALWAYS ANYTHING GOES
  4. Lawnscaping challenge - August 17th challenge - EMBOSSING

Ooo loving the Shawn tour thanks so much kathy, Mr Tom was indeed most impressed with the train themed woolly jumpers !

Loving your ATC, that is such a great technique that I'm looking forward to trying out myself. How are you liking the egg shaped sponges ? Worth getting do you think ? Do you know if the Ranger glaze would work on this as an alternative to the spray and shine - just wundrin ?

Hope the party goes well later, if you have the same weather as we do it should be a nice warm afternoon for the festivities.

Luv
Wynneth

Love your "Hello World" ATC. Fab technique brilliantly executed. I salute you. Love all the Shauns. Unsurprisingly we have a bit of a soft spot for the train related ones ;oD

Thanks for sharing.

What a fabulous take on our citrus challenge! This is the first entry I've seen that mixed black as a main color with those wonderful citrus bursts. It turned out really well! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing both your ATC and your Shaun adventures. Keep on travelin', snappin' pics and sharing! Especially with us here at Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge Blog! This was a joy to see!
