Our church hosts a Farmers Market every Saturday during the warmer months. I enjoy spending time there as many weekends as I can because I learn so much from everyone, and I also get to have some “mommy time” while giving back my time to the church. It’s a Win Win!
Last weekend when I was there, I was talking to one of the local farmers about Rhubarb. Strawberry Rhubarb is my all time favorite pies, and I LOVE Strawberry Rhubarb Jam… But I asked her what else can be made with it? She really wasn’t sure, her response was, “Pie and Jam”. So I took that as my mission! For goodness sake there has to be more out there? To my surprise I have found some unique and interesting recipes that include Rhubarb! Here are 15 of them!
I don’t know about you, but I look forward to May every year because that is when the Rhubarb is at it’s finest! Each of these recipes is unique and completely unexpected! I’ll have to share this post with my “Farmer Friends” next time I’m at the market. I can’t wait to try out some of these recipes, can you? If you do… come back and let me know what you thought!!
Enjoy!
This post is dedicated to the memory of Selma over at Selma’s Table. Sadly, I did not know her, however after reading her blog I came to understand that she really had an inspiring story! As a fellow blogger it breaks my heart to know that such a strong, creative, and kind woman has come to the end of her story.. .but a part of me also rejoices knowing that she, with whatever struggles she may have had in this life, will now have unending and overflowing peace with our Lord and Savior. Please hold Selma and her family in your prayers today, as I’m sure that they are heard. God Bless.
These look great! I especially liked the rustic tart and the BBQ sauce recipes. I’ll be looking for rhubarb at the farmers market this week. Hopefully it’s not too late in the season.

Hi Danielle! Thank you for linking this to Fiesta Friday #77. I find your post very informative and the pictures are just beautiful. I myself am trying to get more acquainted with rhubarb since I grow it. Fiesta Friday #77, however, is designated as a tribute to our friend Selma@Selma’s Table who sadly passed away recently. We’re asking all linked posts to mention or dedicate them to Selma and link them to her blog http://selmastable.wordpress.com. Would you please add that to your post? Thanks so much!

ABSOLUTELY!!!! I did notice it was a tribute to the lovely Selma after I had linked, and I wasn’t sure how to remove it? YICKS! BUT…creating a dedication to her sounds like a fantastic idea! I will do that! 🙂 Thank you so much!!!
