Popcorn

Hi! I’m popping in with a quick card for CASology’s Challenge #153: Pop!
IMG_7186editedI used a digital image and fussy cut it out.Popcorn Clip Art

IMG_7188editedI added some white embossing powder to the popcorn and some clear to the top of the bag. I also added some SU! Daffodil Delight ink as “butter.”

I used the above image as a guide for my coloring and then added some stamps from PTI’s Southwestern Style stamp set.

IMG_7190editedJust I was about to post this my youngest daughter said that I should color the triangles in red. So I did.

Here’s the result:

Which way do you like it better? Without the red?

IMG_7191editedOr with the red? I’m not really sure, myself. I’m also going to play this at WAW’s Challenge #190 and SSS Monday Challenge: Summer because we tend to go to the movies more during the summer. IMG_7293edited

Also, popcorn can be an easy summer meal, along with some fruit and cheese. That’s about all I’m up to with the temps we’re having here! Besides, I can probably pop it outside! Notice the “Feels Like 118 °F?”

Tomorrow is forecast to be Cooler than today though…..by 3 degrees. I’m praying for cooler temperatures than that though.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Great work, Melissa! You worked magic with that digi! Totally brought it to life. Agree with Loll, for the purposes of this week’s cue, the white triangles does make the popcorn container ‘pop’ more, but overall, both designs are equally sweet! Looks like you have a budding card maker in your midst! 😄 your cards are always beautiful Melissa, and it’s a treat to have you play along each week at CASology! Happy summer! Sounds like you are in the thick of it!

  3. Fabulous CAS design Melissa!! That popcorn looks good enough to eat!! 🙂 I like the card both ways, but think the plain black is my favourite … makes the red of the popcorn container stand out more. xx
