The Colors of Nova Scotia
If you have never visited Nova Scotia you really must come, I’m so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. The county I live in is coined for the world’s highest tides, Acadia University, and most importantly it is the agricultural heartland of the province. If you have no idea where I’m talking about, Nova Scotia is the small whale shaped (some say lobster) province sticking off the east coast of Canada.
Nova Scotia is so diverse there is really something for everyone to see and do. Because of the beautiful landscapes, agricultural towns, and coastal properties, we have such a constantly changing colour palette throughout the seasons. For those of you that haven’t traveled east, or have, and just want to drink up all the colors of Nova Scotia, PPG Voice of Color Regional Collection showcases the colors that tell our story.

Beautiful collection eh? So many colors remind me of my surroundings, even the names are suiting, like Bay of Fundy, and Northern Landscape. I just can’t choose a favourite!
These images are a breath into how the landscapes, villages and people bring this color palette to life. Using these colors in your home will create a space that is warm and inviting, much like Nova Scotia.

You’ll notice the homes and shops in Lunenburg reveal many colors in this regional collection.
Even in the winter the bright pops of red and blue are eye catching.
Inspired by these cute cottages, I’ve put together a few of the colors from the regional collection I would love to use in my home.

I think I feel my little guys new bedroom color scheme coming together. I love the rustic tones with the pop of yellow.

Isn’t this color combination perfect for summer, bright and fun but not too loud.

I love all of the colours. What a gorgeous collection. For the front door I am leaning towards the lime taffy or the pineapple delight. Then I can see you placing some of your accessories on the porch to create a lovely vignette centered around the door. What a beautiful setting for the cabin too!
Such a pretty collection of colours, makes me want to visit. I’ve never been East of Quebec, and that was a school trip long, long ago. Perhaps it’s time for an east coast adventure. Thanks for the inspiration.
