really liked it

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North isn't the type of book I would usually pick out for myself to read. I mean, I like sci-fi, a lot, but the time-travel sub-genre has never been one of my go-to genres. Nevertheless, I thought I'd give it a shot, because everyone's been talking about this particular book, and let me just say that I found it to be a rather enjoyable read. It's not time travel per se, it's more reincarnation based. Well, not reincarnation in the sense of "now I'm a human, next time I'll be a slug", but more along the lines of a total restart. Our protagonist - Harry August - is, however, fully aware of every life he leads and his memory is flawless. When he dies, he is reborn at the exact same time and place and then he goes through all the motions, whilst remembering his last lives. It's very unique, it's incredibly well-written, and I won't be surprised if this A-chronological tale becomes a classic.

What I enjoyed the most is how the author was able to pull me into the story. Harry August is a memorable protagonist that is so human and so relatable that the whole plot seemed rather plausible. The first half of the story was solidly written, with some great scientific theories being discussed. Thereafter though, things become exciting as hell!

My honest opinion is to read The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August, because if I say more I might spoil it for you. But I can honestly say that it was an amazing read and definitely worth owning.
