I used to receive these Evans Christmas books annually but stopped asking for them a few years ago because they seemed similar and sappy. I'm currently trying to finish up my last reading challenge for the year which is a TBR challenge to clear off old books on the shelf. This qualifies and since it's December, I figured why not? This one kind of restored by faith in Evans. It's admittedly a thinly-disguised Scrooge story as a successful and ruthless businessman reads his premature obituary in the paper and then sees the horrible things about him left in the Comments section. He determines to make things right with some of the people he's ruined and makes his list. The part I liked is that he finds that just because you decided to be sorry and want to make things better doesn't mean that you can or that you can be forgiven. As he comes to this conclusion, his outlook is changed. These elements made it a better story. But never fear, it all finally ends up happy and Christmasy in the end, although in different ways than you expect.
