Hello everyone! Hope you had a wonderful start to a new week. After a great week of HOME inspiration, we are ready for a new challenge over at CASology! Here is this week’s cue card:
I felt kinda nervous with Halloween quickly approaching since I’ve had a hard time making a Halloween card this year. But when I saw the cue word, I thought it was perfect timing to give it a try. Without further ado, here is what I came up with:
The idea for this card started with my desire to create a single layer card–the easiest card to send through the mail to my friends. Since I didn’t own any ghost stamps, I used a free clip art image that I found online and printed it out to create a mask. Not the quickest way to get the image, but it sure was fun to peel it off later after inking! Then I chose a girl image from In My Heart stamp set to create a little scene to look like a girl sitting on the ground waiting for a fun Halloween night. Then the cute ghost came to surprise her with all the excitement. Hope you get what scene I wanted to create on my card.
Actually this was the first card that I made for CASology ghost challenge. But I didn’t like the way it turned out with googly eyes on the ghost. I know it looks okay, but not perfect, right? By the way, I added some shadow on the ground with Copic grey markers, but it’s a shame that my camera failed to catch the awesome details on the ground.
This is how I made my card. 1)Stamp the girl from In My Heart stamp set by Mama Elephant with Memento Tuxedo black ink. 2)Color the image with Copic markers. 3)Make an outline for a ground using Copic Multiliner. Then create some shadow to the ground with Copic markers W0, N1. 4)Print out a ghost image and then cut it out to create a mask. 5)Cover the mask over the card front. Then apply color using a blending tool and Distress Ink Black Soot. 6)Stamp the sentiment from Just Hello stamp set by Neat&Tangled.
Love that your ghost is black not white – he looks much friendlier with his googly eyes!
Oh, do you like the ghost with googly eyes? Um… I’m glad that I shared both cards!
The black ghost is fun, the little girl is adorable and I love that you made a one layer May!

I love both versions (googly or not)!! Your photo tutorial is always superb! This is no exception! Love the masked ghost with a cute girl. The scene is sort of nightmarish (LOL) and is perfect for Halloween! Thanks so much for playing Simon Says Stamp Wednesday “Anything Goes” Challenge!
May, that ghost mask was brilliant! What an amazing one-layer Halloween card! (I like it better without the googly eyes but both versions are awesome.) That little girl is about to get her wish for some Halloween adventures, isn’t she? Love that!
Love your card, really beautiful!
