Welcome to What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday

Morning all

How's your week going?

Yesterday I picked up new glasses, of the optical kind - nothing to do with Darnell's comment about PUBS (Piled Up Backgrounds) as per Sarn's blog yesterday and I already love them. My last pair had been hated almost since I got them AND I was FOREVER pushing them back up my nose - not these new ones ... AND they're purple!!!

I'm still creatively clearing the backlog of snippets of card which I have lying around following recent experiments with brushos/mica/distress stains etc (aided and abetted by Sarn - see link to her blog in the previous paragraph) and here's another ATC made using one of them.

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippet of card following an experiment with Distress Stains (tumbled glass/tarnished brass) and cling film
  • Visible Image INKognito flower head and stem and Hero Arts sentiment stamped using Ranger Archival cobalt blue ink
  • Crafters Companion Spray and Sparkle (and Lilian's right, it IS a strong smell and it DOES linger!! Despite the fact I sprayed outdoors!!)

The peeps over at Stamplorations have launched their latest challenge and it's a sketch .... and below is my card for this challenge - I'm pretty pleased with it too - ever have one of those days when things just seem to come together?

Materials used:
  • White C6, 300 gsm, scallop edged card and matching sized envelope
  • Stamplorations "swipe" image stamped using the Brilliance "twilight" trio of inks (pink/purple/blue)
  • Imagine That sentiment stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink

And the inside of my card? and the envelope? - check 'em out here .....

Well, I WAS pleased with it but .... you know what? When I looked at the sketch again I saw that I should have offset the stripes according to the sketch - do ya think the nice peeps at Stamplorations will still allow it? Here's hoping .... Would you like to see the sketch? ....

My work desk is tiny and has to have lots of stuff on it because, well, basically .. there's nowhere else for it to go!. Historically, my WOYWDW pix have been of a space that is a total mess but, just lately, it's been of a tidy table so, how does it look today?

Tidy? WOT? Again? I'm sensing a pattern!

Another section of my work space, in close up!

Happy Wednesday

OMG - it's TOO much . . . ANOTHER tidy desk from you Kathy! Are you sure you're feeling ok?

LOVE the sketch card and I'm sure your take on it will be perfectly acceptable to them.

FAB ATC too . . . loving those backgrounds!

Happy WOYWW.

Hugs, Sarn xxx

Great specs and of course they'd have to be purple. Gorgeous ATC card today and loving your purply striped card. I've now put a link to the baby wipe technique on my blog, thanks for reminding me to do this. Tidy table? That's the only way I can work and mine's usually more empty than yours!

The new glasses look good! I know exactly what you mean about having some that you never really like. Trouble is they're so expensive (or at least mine are!) That you have to live with them till they need changing. I'm liking your pastel stripes on the card. I'd allow it!

Love the card Kathy, I'm currently waiting for a form to get my eyes tested, so I might have to have some new ones too. Purple becomes you! LOL.

Fabulous glasses, you're looking good in them Kathy! I also have a pair that I always need push up the nose, so silly to spend time on doing that.

Gorgeous projects, love the colours you use, I think I need to check out brushos, one more thing to add to the crafty wish list.

Love

Your interpretation of the sketch is fine because it is YOUR interpretation and it is still recognisable!! Yay! LOVE the one layer card you created and the scalloped edge is so pretty! Thanks so much for playing along at STAMPlorations xx

Cute glasses! I absolutely adore the grunginess of the first card. Playing around with products can really rack up the card stash huh?
