Ok, so tomorrow is my Great Uncle Ray's 80th bday party at my Mom's house. Like, what in the world do you get an 80 year old man?! Solution? Why not a pirate ship birdhouse from the cherubs? Great idea. So, I went to Michael's craft store, bought a pirate ship birdhouse and painted it with acrylic paint. As you will see, the flags are painted in each child's favorite color with their first initial on it. That way, when Uncle Ray sits on his porch, he can look at this birdhouse and think of how much we love him. :)
I went ahead and distressed it before the weather could get to it. :) I think he will like it.

ReplyDeleteThat looks so great! I'd love it if you'd link this up to our wicked awesome Wed link party this week.
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job! I've never seen a pirate ship bird house before. Very cool! I'm so impressed that you could make it look so real. My projects like that always look like my 1st grader did them. This looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteHere visiting form Dittle Dattle.
That's so nice of you to get him the bird house AND to paint it on top! :) I get so emotional when it comes to older people, they seem like kids to me, and need extra love and care. :)
ReplyDeleteI am popping in from Debbie's newbie party and follow along. I wish you a happy Tuesday!
