Reading Challenge: Mount TBR 2014

It’s that time of year again to make resolutions. This year I have pledged to purchase fewer books in order to make a dent in my TBR pile. It’s all about will power, which is something I sometimes lack, especially when it comes to adding new books to my personal library. But I do rise to a challenge, which is why I decided to try the Mount TBR Challenge this year hosted by Bev at My Reader’s Block. So for all you book-hoarding bibliomaniacs out there, I invite you to join me and see how long you can go before adding a new book to your shelves.

Mount TBR 2014

There are 8 challenge levels. I’ve decided to aim for Mount Blanc which will require me to read 24 books (including e-books) over the next year, as long as I purchased them before Jan 1, 2014.  The other levels are:

Pike’s Peak: Read 12 books from your TBR pile/s
Mount Blanc: Read 24 books from your TBR pile/s
Mt. Vancouver: Read 36 books from your TBR pile/s
Mt. Ararat: Read 48 books from your TBR piles/s
Mt. Kilimanjaro: Read 60 books from your TBR pile/s
El Toro: Read 75 books from your TBR pile/s
Mt. Everest: Read 100 books from your TBR pile/s
Mount Olympus (Mars): Read 150+ books from your TBR pile/s
