Celtic Solstice Mystery Part 5

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
All of the things I needed to get my treadle up and running got here on Christmas Eve. So after church on Christmas morning I was able to get acquainted with "Helen Marie" named after my Great Grandma K. & her daughter, my 97 year old Grandma J. According to my dad Great Grandma K. use to have a treadle sewing machine so it only seem right to name it after her and my Grandma J.

Here she is (I needed a 1/4" seam allowance so I got creative with an old grocery savings card). I was 1/2 way through clue 4 before I had to stop sewing for Christmas Eve. So when I got my treadle up and running I thought it would be great to get use to her while finishing up the 4 patches from clue 4.

 Almost done....

Finally done with clue 4! Which finished off my green fabrics that were pulled for the mystery.
It didn't take as long as I thought it would to get use to treadling, once I got my rhythm going it was pretty easy and fun! I treadled all afternoon, and boy did I feel it the next couple of days in my legs and core muscles. I need to look up how many calories get burned while treadling so I can add it too my exercise routine which I plan on starting on New Years Day. ;0)  What could be better- being able to sew while exercising! It's win, win if you ask me, lol

Clue 5 was released on Friday and stated we needed to grab our1/2 sq triangle units from clue 3 (when I first read it I thought it said "bonus" triangles, lol don't remember any bonus triangles so I went back and re-read it). Got to cutting right away but sewing was going to have to wait until another day.

Well this is all of the fabric I have left after clue 5, like I said earlier the green I pulled for the mystery was used up with clue 4 (if there ends up being any more green used I will have to go back to my stash for some more). Doesn't seem like there will be too many more clues left, maybe 1 or 2 more for the units and then the final reveal.

This is where I was Sunday night...

and then I finally finished clue 5 on Monday. For the past few clues I kept thinking that I was going to fall behind, but somehow I kept finding time to finish them the Thursday before the next clue was to be released on Friday. Let me tell you, if you need to be motivated to get the clues done just put on some archived Quilt Cam Videos and start sewing while watching...before long all the units will be done. Remember I am making the king size of this mystery and there is A LOT of 3 1/2" units. Looking forward to the next clue that will be released on Friday but in the mean time you can go HERE to see the progress of some of the others that are playing along this year.
