Fun Foam Flake

This week’s Papertrey Ink Make it Monday video and challenge highlights using fun foam on your projects. The only fun foam I had on hand that wasn’t already die cut into a shape was white, so that kind of limited my options to doilies, clouds, skates, and snow. I went with snow for a clean and simple winter card with just a bit of sparkle.

I die cut the felt with one of the snowflake dies from the Peace Be Still collection. The fun foam flake is stamped with the matching image from the Peace Be Still stamp set in Encore Silver ink—works great!

I set the flake aside and used three of the set’s other snowflake images to randomly stamp on a Blueberry Sky panel. I layered the stamped panel on a silver mat, then on an Enchanted Evening card base.

For the sentiment, I stamped the “peace, love, joy” sentiment from Fillable Frames #8 on a strip of Spring Rain grosgrain ribbon using Enchanted Evening ink. I didn’t think the silver would show up well enough to be read, otherwise I’d have used that. I attached the ribbon strip to the card, then layered on the fun foam snowflake, using some foam tape for extra dimension. A clear crystal at the center of the snowflake was the finishing touch. I may go back and add some tiny crystals to the snowflake's points--still thinking on that . . .

Materials Used:
Peace Be Still and Fillable Frames #8 stamp sets, Enchanted Evening ink, Enchanted Evening and Blueberry Sky cardstock, Peace Be Still die collection, Spring Rain grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink); shimmery silver paper (Recollections); silver ink (Encore); clear crystal (Studio 18); foam tape
