Dad’s Birthday and Make It Mondays

Edited to add: I started this post on Thursday and finished it Sunday! What a crazy week it turned out to be. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hello Friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! We had another 2 hour delay today so I was able to work on Dad’s Birthday card. I was at a loss for ideas for something a little different. I’ve thought and thought about this card and just couldn’t come up with a good design. Until I watched Papertrey Ink’s video for their new challenge Make It Mondays! PTI Make It Mondays

As soon as I saw Erin’s technique I knew it was what I wanted to do for Dad’s card.

Dad's Bday

I changed it up a bit so that the sentiments are similar to clouds though. At least that’s how I’m seeing it! I stamped the sentiments with Versamark ink and used White Filigree embossing powder to create the clouds then added the die cut hot air balloons with pop dots. I added a little glitter to the balloons here are there to make them more festive but not to girly and finished the card with some Rustic Jute Button Twine. I’m having lots of fun with these balloons. They are even finding their way onto notes for my students. I hope you’re having a great week and staying warm. Thanks for stopping by to see my latest project!

This is a great type of card to use with the Up Up and Away set. I love the colors you chose to use and I bet your Dad will love it.

I LOVE this Heidi! The balloons and white sentiments look fabulous on the blue, and the twine is a great, masculine touch!
