SEIZE THE BIRTHDAY ~ METALLICS

Hi Friends!  A new challenge is up at the Seize the Birthday Challenge!

Ashwini is our hostess and she selected metallic as our challenge!  So pull out your paper or ink that is metallic and let's make a birthday card!

If you do not want to use the topping, you are welcome to make any kind of card as long as it is a birthday card!

 

 

Now I see that the shine is not coming through very well, but these are all metallic cardstock!

I used a teal, blue and a magenta.

I used a die from The Greetery: Twisted Crepe (and the sentiment: Pinwheel Party)

 the Party Hats are a die from Waffle Flower: Layered Party Hats 

 I smooshed a little bit of blue ink onto the card to give it some texture,

I also stamped those little stars with Catherine Pooler Metallic Gold Ink

I had a lot of fun making this card and I hope you will join us with your own metallic birthday card!

SEIZE THE BIRTHDAY ~ BEACH THEME

Hi Friends, Welcome to another Seize the Birthday Challenge

Vicky is our hostess this challenge and she is looking for a beach theme on our birthday cards! 

I pulled out a Gina K stamp called Ocean Minded.

I first white embossed the water edges and waves, then I ink blended some colors for the sandy beach and the ocean.  The clouds in the sky are from an MFT stencil

Do you see the foot prints and dog prints in the sand?

The design team has some wonderful beach theme inspiration for you as well as our Special Party Guests are Jolanda  and Stef , be sure to go visit their blogs!

Remember you always have the choice to use the topping "beach theme" but if you choose not to use the topping just be sure it is a birthday card!

SEIZE THE BIRTHDAY ~ OFF THE EDGE

Welcome to Seize the Birthday Challenge!

Shirley is challenging us to make a birthday card with images "off the edge".

I used a stamp/stencil/die set from Gina K called Lovely Flowers

I added the flower and leaf colors to a strip of cardstock to match and used that for the side of the card.

SEIZE THE BIRTHDAY ~ GREEN + ANOTHER COLOR

Hi Friends!

This challenge at Seize the Birthday is brought to us by Nancy!

She is looking for the color GREEN and one other color on your BIRTHDAY CARD!

This is an MFT stamp called Happy Birthday Candles!

I inked it up with 4 different shades of green starting with the lightest at the bottom of the candle and worked up to a darker green at the top.  This gives it a nice ombre effect.

My second color is the yellow flame!

The sentiment is actually a die from SSS: Birthday wishes, and it comes with a background die which I chose to use vellum so you could still see the candles!

COLOR HUES~ PEACH & GREEN

I enjoyed the peach and green color so much I decided to make another card 

for the COLOR HUES CHALLENGE # 84 

I used the Gina K  Modern floral stamp, stencil and die set for the flowers and the sentiments.

Sugar Pea Design Skinny stripe Stencil was used to make the stripes on the side.  I used Pinkfresh Inks in Peach fuzz and mint.  I used a light hand on the first stencil and then using the same color just went a little darker and harder with applying the color.

The sequins on the flowers are from Spellbinders called Peach Opalescent and OMG, are they ever beautiful, they have a shine and sparkle built into the flat no hone sequin which I just love!!

The green sequins are from PTI rainbow collection again, no holes in the center!

I.D.E.A.S by Darnell! this week is D= Dies

Hi my friends, Have you seen Darnell's clever idea if we need a jump start or something to help with our mojo?  She calls it I.D.E.A.S

 

 And by looking at the chart above you can see what each letter of the acronym stands for!  This second week in April is D for Dies or Die cuts.

I have a new die from Waffle Flowers:  Layered Party Hats:

I made a fun birthday card and I did want the party hats to be the main focus, so I used a Gina K confetti stencil for the background, but then decided it still needed something more and since I had these balloons sitting right next to me, already stamped and die cut, I thought perfect I will use them on this card along with the sentiment which is also from Gina K.  A fun and festive birthday card using a NBUS and also using Dies for the second week in April!

Fun way to use up more supplies in our stash and remind us to use what we have!
