This challenge at Make It Monday #116-Adding Texture to Stamps was so much fun this week.  I never realized you could add some texture like that and it’s so simple.  Head on over to http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2013/05/make-it-monday-116.html and check out the video they have on the technique.  Here’s a card I made by adding my own texture to some of the stamps.

I mainly used Papertrey Polka Dot Parade #2 stamp set; I tried to use the back of the four flower stamp to add some texture, but when I put it in reverse, it ended up looking like mountains in the background.  Oh well, I still like it; I’ve never seen pink mountains before though!  For the grass, I used the back of a small stamp I had and added the blades of grass with a comb;  two of the clouds I did with running the comb across diagonally; the cloud on the right was done by cross hatching with the comb and I like that way it turned out with the dots that appeared between the lines.  The sun already had the texture in the middle and of course, the “hello” has the darling  polka dots on it already.

I used 6″ X 6″ Studio Calico papers with one of there wood chevrons on the left of the “hello” and I added some small pearls next to the wood chevron and one small pearl on a flower.  This was great fun!

Great sunny scene you created here, Barbara. Love the texture you added and the ‘grass’ you added is perfect 🙂
