So Many Books

Hello.  Here with a book mark for the "Anything But a Card Challenge" at A Blog Named Hero.

March Anything but a card

I applied chalk through the Every Which Way Stencil using a small makeup brush to a piece of smooth bristol paper.

After adding the chalk I spritzed on glimmer mist.  Then I spread on some transparent embossing paste.  I removed the stencil after adding the paste.

I embossed the sentiment, from the stamp set In the Study,  on a piece of velum then adhered all of the layers together.

Thank you for stopping by.

Birthday Tag

Hello!  So where I live the schools have been closed.  Social distancing is recommended and most things are closed to the public.  I am at home and so are my four kids so I don't actually have a lot of free time.  I created a quick tag to share with you for the current A Blog Named Hero Challenge.

I blended Distress Oxide Inks on a diecut tag using a make up brush.  I then spattered it with water and dabbed of the water to make some splotches.  Once the tag was dry (I used a heat tool to dry it)  I embossed the sentiment and the confetti (Hero Arts Cheeky Birthday Set).  I felt the tag needed something so I used a stencil (Starry Nights Stencil) and some water to remove some ink.  Before removing the stencil I sprayed the tag with some glimmer spray.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope to see your projects at the current challenge.

Oceans of Joy

Hello, this is my second card for the Birthday challenge at A Blog Named Hero.  There is still a few days left in the challenge.

I used a diecut circle mask I made to cover the center of a piece of black cardstock.  The background was embossed using the Hero Arts Abstract Waves background stamp and Sparkling Sea Embossing Powder.  Next I blended distress Oxide inks over the embossed image.  I removed the mask and embossed the lighthouse in white (From the Vault Beach and Sea).

Thank you for stopping by, hope you share your work at our challenge.

Birthday Cake

Hi All!  This month's challenge theme is a useful one, "Birthday".

For this card I made a stencil using a piece of acetate.  I diecut a circle from the acetate and sprayed the negative with Pixie Spray,  This is my first time using Pixie Spray it worked wonderfully in holding the stencil in place.  I adhered the stencil to a A4 size of cardstock and blended three different Distress Inks blending the colors until nice and vibrant.  I sprinkled with water and dabbed off for some splotches in the background.  Next I sprayed on some glitter spray.  I removed the stencil and let it dry overnight.  The Birthday cake (from a Hero Arts 25th Anniversary stamp set) was stamped with Versafine ink then embossed in clear.   I also stamped and embossed the sentiment. I cut down the cardstock and layered it with fun foam.

Hope to see your entries at A Blog Named Hero.

Butterfly Birthday

New challenge at A blog Named Hero is Anything Goes. I played with my alcohol inks to create a pretty background.

I used the butterfly dies from the January My Monthly Hero Kit.  This kit sold out quickly.  Hero Arts has several butterfly stamps and dies that would also work well.

Thanks for coming to see my card.

Best Wishes Sparkle Watercolor

A few days left in the Sparkle Challenge at A Blog Named Hero.
ChallengeSparkle
I embossed the floral background using Hero Arts gold embossing powder.  The background stamp I used is retired but the Flowers For Coloring background stamp would be fun for this too.
I used a glitter Spectrum Noir pen to add watercolors to the flowers and leaves.  The photo doesn't show but the glitter on the card is very pretty. I then water colored with black around the images.

I hope you join in on our sparkle challenge.

Sparkling Holiday

Hello! This time of year can be so busy!  Today I have a quick pretty card to share with you.  The theme of the challenge at A Blog Named Hero is:

ChallengeSparkle

For this card I used card stock, Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set, a Graphic Snowflake Stencil and Poinsettia and ornament Fancy Die from Hero Arts. For the background Distress Oxide Ink in the shade Shabby Shutters was blended through the snowflake stencil.  I diecut the ornament from red card stock then added a subtle sparkle with a Spectrum Noir glitter pen.  On top of the berries I added small dots of clear Nuvo Drops.  Once the ornament dried I adhered the card together.  For some added sparkle I added the clear sequins.

Thank you for stopping by.
