Artist Trading Card Holder

Hello everyone !
I recently acquired some children's building blocks and thought I would see what I could come up with using them.
I painted black gesso onto the block first. I have decorated the block with painted paper and randomly stamped(La Blanche vintage script)onto each side.
I glued a holder into the block and made an ATC using collage printed butterflies and a quote from Dina Wakley collage tissue paper to clip onto it.
I love how this has turned out and think I will be making a few more of them.

I am entering challenges:
Craft Stamper Take It Make It challenge November

Thank you for visiting and see you soon

Show Us Your MEdia new challenge

YAY!!!

Today starts a brand new challenge from Dina Wakley and "Show Us Your Media"

The theme for this challenge is "A Year Of Gratitude"

Each month on the first Wednesday there will be a new prompt posted where you can join in the challenge and create a journal page relating to the prompt posted.

At the end of the year you will have a journal which will be personal to you and allow you to express creatively through journalling your gratitude in life.

Details can be found about the challenge on both Dina Wakley blog and Ranger blog.

The first prompt is "I am grateful for simple pleasures"

I am working in the small Dina Wakley mixed media journal and for this first prompt I have created this double page.

I have used Dina Wakley paints-Magenta and Ocean. I stamped the face (from the new Dina Wakley media stamp set- Refuse To Be Ordinary)  onto collage tissue paper and then adhered to the page  with Gel medium.

I also used the tags from the same stamp set and attached them with the sewing machine.
Using the Dina Wakley stencil(Big Squoval) to add a border down the side to complete my page.

The final thing ....to Journal !

I am grateful for the chance to enjoy and experiment with creativity"
This is a simple pleasure for me and is very important in my daily life. I am grateful that I have this pleasure and have been able to learn from many tutors who have helped me experiment and discover my own style along the way.

This is a fabulous challenge to join in with and a personal journey to incorporate in your art journal.

see you soon

A page from my journal has been printed onto fabric and I am starting to work onto it with a series of mark making stitches.
Love the little scattering of these stitches in a cluster!!!

When you just want to play...

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by.

So for those moments when you just want to play...
Sometimes when i don't let myself overthink and just want to enjoy making art, I find it's enjoyable and a piece that i really like.
This was one of those moments and i just played without worrying about the end result. Using paints, stamps and stencils I just allowed the page to come together itself. Plenty of random doodling to finish it of!
