The new Hambo DT officially starts today and we are starting off with a “rocking” new Hoedown! The challenge? Add metal to your project with any Hambo image (rubber or digi).
Those that participated in last week’s challenge received today’s rock star “Bailey Rocks” free just for playing.
If you are ready to join in on all of fun, there are freebies available to get you started HERE.
I have been waiting and waiting to make a circular side step card from the Splitcoast Stampers tutorial for quite a while. I kept hoping that just the right image would come along AND it did. “Bailey Rocks” and so does my card (ha-ha)!
I used a soda can (that I embossed with a musical notes EF) as background “paper” and to back of one of my sentiments – “You Rock” and Voila! my card has metal. To wrap this concert up, I created a piano keyboard on the bottom part of the card, used silver metallic glitter glue for Bailey’s guitar and added the final sentiment “This is dedicated to you…” to the top step.
I am smiling out loud just looking at it because I LOVE it !

I can see why you love your card, it is FAB-U-LOUS, how ingenious to use a soda can (we say “a can of pop” here in yorkshire) I sooo want to make a circular side step card after seeing this, great inspiration. Lyn your card totally rocks and so do you. Jane:)

Jane, the real truth is that here in Georgia it’s almost always called a “Coke can”. Soda is generally synonymous with Coke here (since Coca-Cola is headquartered here.) I try to use soda instead, because I know the whole world isn’t from GA ;-)but sometimes I slip…

ahhh, well you learn something new every day, I never knew coke had their HQ in your part of the world, lol. I was only saying to my friend the other day that while I am on the Hambo DT I tend to text in american (which I think is adorable) please dont think that I am trying to correct you, I am just telling you what we say here in England, well more precisely, here in Yorkshire… which has some really strange words that you wouldn’t even recognise it as English!!!! I was telling Monica that here we sign off a text with xxxxx (the more Xs the more fondness for the recipient, but I have noticed that Americans dont tend to do that, so if I sign off to you with Xs it is a sign of appreciation, fondness, admiration, etc. luv jane xxxxxxxx

Jane – In Georgia (or anywhere in “The South” of the US we also have words not recognized as English, so believe me I understand!! I never feel anything but appreciated by you and I love learning about your “really strange” sayings too!
