A Simple Setting

Thursday, December 2, 2010

I do realize that Thanksgiving is over, but since I don't have anything out for Christmas yet, I thought I show the Simple Setting that I did this year.  I wanted to change things up a bit this year and have a quiet lunch with just the four of us...then go over to great-grandparents and spend the rest of the day with everyone...But...it just didn't work out that way. My Dad had to have surgery so I was a the hospital most of the day.

Guess what?

My table wasn't used.

I had shortened the table to make it cozy.

I didn't want a fussy centerpiece...so out came the cake plate.  I think it works.

Thanksgiving1

I used a mixture of my cheap plates with my cheap gold chargers. The tablecloth under the lace is a match to the napkins...all from shhh...Wal-Mart.

The lace tablecloth came from a trip to Mexico. I usually bring it out during the Spring, but with the gold underneath...I like it for Fall.

The sideboard was all set for the turkey with my Big Lots loot! All 50% off!

Even though we didn't actually use my Simple Thanksgiving Setting....I had fun putting it together!

Now, on to Christmas!

I'm joining Susan for Tablescape Thursday!

Personally, I think the simplicity is what makes it so pretty. It makes me think of "simple gifts". I love the plates you used in your place setting.

You are very welcome! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Speak it out loud (the Bible shows that there is power in words):

"This is the day that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.

I am a child of the King. The Word says that I am precious in His sight!

I am blessed and the Bible says that I am already seated in the heavenlies!

God, you are good and I love you! I will praise You today!"

Now, praise Him out loud all day long!

Blessings and favor,

Janet
